- Statement
- All baseflow survey samples were collected from 11th to 13th August 2006 under baseflow conditions. Water was filtered under vacuum in the field through 0.45μm cellulose nitrate circles prior to analysis for major, nutrient and trace element analysis. Unfiltered samples were collected for total P (TP). The analysis was performed the day after return to the laboratory for the least stable components (pH, alkalinity and the nutrients) and within two weeks for the other determinants. Details of the storage and analytical methodologies are provided in Neal et al. (2000). Levels of saturation of the waters with respect to CO2 (EpCO2) and calcite (in logarithmic form: SICaCO3) were determined using data on pH, alkalinity, Ca concentration and temperature (Neal et al., 1998b).
