  • A range of hydraulics data including stages and discharges were collected for the River and Leat at Boxford between 01/04/2008 and 30/09/2014. The River Lambourn is a tributary of the River Thames, the principal river in the south-east of England. The CEH River Lambourn Observatory comprises a 600 m reach of river and 24 acres of associated water meadows at Boxford, Berkshire. Data include: 1. River flow gauging using Electro-magnetic Current Meter (ECM); 2. Leat flow gauging using Electro-magnetic Current Meter (ECM); 3. River flow gauging using Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP); 4. River stage boards readings (11 Stage boards); 5. Leat stage boards readings (6 Stage boards); 6. River stage at water quality station (WQS) using Druck PDCR 1830 Submersible Pressure Transducer; 7. River stage at four stilling wells using SWS Technology Mini-Diver® Non-Vented Level Sensors with a built-in internal data logger (4 locations); 8. Time series river discharges at Boxford which are calculated from the relationship obtained between discharge measurements taken monthly at Boxford using ADCP and total river discharges at Shaw gauging station; 9. Time series of the Leat discharges which are calculated from the relationship obtained between discharge measurements taken monthly at the Leat inlet and stage measurements at the water quality station.   • This data set comprises of hourly physical and nutrient monitoring data of the River Enborne near Brimpton (National grid reference SU568648), from November 2009 to February 2012. Parameters measured are total reactive phosphorus, nitrate, conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and total chlorophyll. The accompanying hourly averaged flow data (from the EA flow gauging station at the same site) are also supplied. The monitoring programme was funded by the EPSRC, through the LIMPIDS project. The accompanying hourly averaged flow data (from the EA flow gauging station at Binfield, approximately 10 km upstream of the monitoring site) are also supplied.   • The dataset describes the effects of different management techniques on grassland biomass production (dry matter yield), nutritional quality (herbage nitrogen content), pollinator communities (abundance and species richness), predatory beetle communities (abundance, species richness and biomass), and soil health (bulk density, total soil carbon and nitrogen). Data was collected from a site in Berkshire (UK), where a field-scale, randomised block experiment had been implemented to investigate how the establishment of a variety of plant functional groups (grasses, legumes, and other flowering forbs) using different cultivation (minimum tillage and deep ploughing) and management (cutting, grazing and their intensity) techniques, affected the provision of various ecosystem services.
