  • Micro CT scans and associated documents (3d files, animations, segmentation files, data files etc) of palaeontological material.

  • Imagery taken with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone using the as supplied RGB camera for part of the slopes above the A83 Rest and Be Thankful, Scotland in 2016. Images cover part of the slopes affected by Storms Desmond and Frank.

  • Thermal imagery for selected areas of England was taken by a FLIR SC 6000 HS thermal camera mounted on a specially designed survey aircraft over the course of 2009 and 2010 by The GeoInformation Group (TGG) as part of the Cities Revealed project. The data were then acquired by the Landmap project. Positioning data were also recorded so that the thermal data could be accurately geolocated in post-processing. The thermal data were captured between 7pm to 11pm to avoid solar activity which would produce false readings and when most houses would be heated, in cold (less than 10C) dry weather so that the temperature differential between indoors and outdoors was maximum. The thermal camera has a resolution of <0.02C. The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) funded Landmap service which ran from 2001 to July 2014 collected and hosted a large amount of earth observation data, such as thermal imagery, for the majority of the UK. After removal of JISC funding in 2013, the Landmap service is no longer operational, with the data now held at the NEODC.   • The database contains satellite images of the UK purchased by the BGS or on its behalf by NERC. It includes data from the Lansdat, SPOT, Radarsat and ERS satellites. The images are stored in proprietary format on various types of magnetic media. The data are currently stored by path-row scene numbers and as mosaics on tapes, CDs and drives. Entire UK is covered by the dataset, however, there are gaps in coverage from individual sensors. Coverage exists for countries (or parts of countries) where work has been carried out.

  • An additional core scanning dataset from the TH0424 drill core that was drilled onshore at Thornton Science Park, Cheshire, UK as part of the UK Geoenergy Observatories (UKGEOS) Cheshire ground investigation funded by UKRI/NERC. The approximately 100 m long core succession comprises the Sherwood Sandstone Group. This additional core scanning dataset pack contains high-resolution optical images and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) downcore point measurements obtained using a Geotek Core Workstation (MSCL-XYZ) at the Core Scanning Facility (CSF) at the British Geological Survey (BGS).
