This Rockall Consortium marine geophysical and sampling survey took place in May/June 1998 in the area of West Shetland, Northern Rockall Trough and Hatton Bank on board RRS Challenger. Subsurface seismic data were collected with an airgun and sparker. Bathymetry data was collected with a Simrad EA500. Seabed samples were collected with a gravity corer. This marine sampling survey comprised four 2-week legs and formed part of the Rockall Continental Margin Project. It was undertaken from April to June 1994 in the Hatton-Rockall area of the north Atlantic on board the MV Kommandor Therese. The purpose was: 1) to obtain short sea-bed cores for geological calibration of high-resolution seismic profiles obtained in 1992 as part of the same project. 2) to obtain short sea-bed gravity cores, targeted at specific structures, and subsequently geochemically analyse subsamples from these for traces of hydrocarbons. Sea-bed samples and cores were collected using Gravity corer, Vibrocorer and Rockdrill. These data are archived by BGS. The purpose was to collect borehole data as part of the Rockall continental Margin Project. Sample data were collected at seven borehole sites using wireline drilling equipment. This sampling survey has been carried out by British Geological Survey (BGS) for the Rockall Consortium, the survey took place from to June-July 1999 in the Hatton and Rockall Banks, west of Shetland, Faroe-Shetland Channel areas on board the MS Bucentaur. The purpose was to collect data as part of the Rockall Consortium to provide an insight into the largely undefined geology of the Hatton Bank and Faeroe Bank area and provide further calibration for seismic data in the west of Shetland area. This geophysical survey has been carried out by Digicon Geophysical, for British Geological Survey (BGS), the Multichannel Deep Seismic survey took place from July to August 1993 in the Rockall area on board the MV Acadian Searcher. The purpose was to collect data as part of Rockall Continental Margin Project: 1) to shoot a grid of lines on eastern flank of Rockall Bank; 2) to shot three long transect lines across Rockall Bank and the Rockall-Hatton Basin down to 18sec two-way time; 3) to acquire gravity data. Sub-bottom profiling data were collected using Airguns. Gravity data were collected. These data were recorded digitally and are archived by BGS. This British Geological Survey (BGS) marine geophysical survey took place in May to July 2000 in the Hatton and Rockall Banks aboard the RV Colonel Templer. This was a regional geophysical survey to gather high resolution seismic, gravity and magnetic data of the area. A total of 5611km of data were collected in a grid of 58 survey tracks using a suite of seismic instruments (airgun, sparker and echo sounder) and also gravity meter and magnetometer.
